1. Who we are
This website is operated by the International Institute for Ethical Governance and Accountability (IIEGA), a non-profit initiative registered in the Republic of South Africa. References to “IIEGA”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean IIEGA, its directors, staff and authorised representatives.

3. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using this site you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Notice. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
4. Purpose of the site
The site provides information about IIEGA's research, training and advocacy programmes, and allows visitors to download resources, sign the Election Pledge, and contact us. The site is informational and does not constitute legal, financial or professional advice.
5. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the site in a way that breaches any applicable law in South Africa or your jurisdiction;
- upload, transmit or distribute any unlawful, defamatory or harmful material;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems;
- use automated means to scrape, harvest or interfere with normal operation.
6. Intellectual property
All content on the site — including text, graphics, logos, the IIEGA name, the Election Pledge wording, and downloadable resources — is the property of IIEGA or its licensors and is protected by South African and international copyright laws. You may view, print and share content for personal, non-commercial advocacy use, with attribution. Any other use requires prior written consent.
7. The Election Pledge
Signing the Election Pledge is voluntary. Your name, organisation, country and signature may be displayed publicly as a signatory unless you indicate otherwise in writing. A signed PDF copy of your pledge is generated and stored securely. Pledges represent a personal ethical commitment and create no legal obligation between you and IIEGA.
8. Third-party links
The site may link to third-party websites for convenience. IIEGA does not endorse or accept responsibility for the content, accuracy or privacy practices of those sites.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, IIEGA excludes all warranties, express or implied, and is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.
10. Suspension and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the site, or update these terms, at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Effective” date above.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
